Chicano Mosh started the night off with a high energy set of full on punk fucking rock. Throughout their performance they put out good vibes and positive energy, and the crowd gave it right back to them by gladly acquiescing every time the band asked them to form pits in front of the stage. The singer was constantly swinging back on forth with his guitar while the bassist was dancing with his bass. Some of their songs were in Spanish, and it was obvious that their heritage and culture is an important part of their identity and artistry. No frills, just well executed punk rock. They were my favorite of the night and I’ll be rooting for them going forward.

Surely Tempo was up next and the highlight of their show was the really interesting sounds they were able to get from their instruments. Their guitarist/keyboardist has a great sense for sounds and how to create them, like a sonic explorer. He put on a show all by himself. They interspersed fun breakdowns throughout some of their songs, sometimes really funky, sometimes heavier . As a whole, they brought a good stage presence, lots of energy and good emotion and they did great at playing off each other, and could really increase the tempo when they wanted to.

Archer Oh finished the night with soaring vocals over pop punk melodies. Imagine if Young the Giant had a punk rock streak, and that's really similar to what Archer Oh sounded like on the Strummer's stage. The highlight of their set, and of the entire night, was a super cool jam where each of them was asking the absolute utmost from their instrument and trying to reach a higher plane in union with each other (musician and instrument and band). During their whole set they had good energy and emotion, with lead man especially putting in a shift, never standing still and and always moving around.
